March is here, bringing the luck of the season with it! As we wait out the rainy days and begin to welcome spring, it's a great time to focus on the good fortune in life and appreciate the lucky moments that come our way. This month brings tons of great events to our area. Let’s take a look at the local happenings this March!

JAN 23 – MAR 15: Imagination Expressed 2025

Head to Museum on Main for Imagination Expressed 2025, an annual art show in collaboration with the Pleasanton Art League, featuring over 200 works by nearly 60 local artists. From ceramics and jewelry to paintings in various mediums, there's something for everyone. Many pieces are for sale, and live artist demonstrations will offer a behind-the-scenes look at their techniques. Don't miss this chance to support local talent!

MAR 1 – MAR 31: The Future Is Now Art Show

This year’s Livermore Reads Together program explores the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, technology, and nature, inspired by The Wild Robot by Peter Brown. The Livermore Art Association is hosting The Future is Now Art Show, which invites participants to showcase technology-inspired artwork at the Livermore Library, celebrating the synergy between art and innovation. Whether focusing on robotics, AI, or the relationship between nature and technology, these creative contributions are worth taking a peek at!

MAR 2: Livermore Valley Half Marathon

The 11th annual Livermore Half Marathon invites participants to experience an unforgettable race this spring in California’s original wine country. The race winds through the heart of picturesque wine country, offering stunning views of vibrant wildlife and beautiful scenery. Runners will traverse lush vineyards, thriving hop fields, and timeless olive groves, immersing themselves in the charm of this iconic region. It’s the perfect blend of fitness, fun, and California charm, making it an event not to be missed.

MAR 2: Readers + Writers at Omega Road Winery

For those who love to read or write, Omega Road Tasting Room offers the perfect space for a quiet, creative morning. On Sunday, March 2, from 10 am to noon, join the first-ever session of Readers and Writers. Whether you're immersed in a book or working on a manuscript, term paper, or thesis, this event provides a supportive atmosphere for individuals to connect with others while enjoying what they love. Wine and spritzers will be available for purchase, along with complimentary bites. After the session, attendees are invited to stay, unwind, and socialize over a signature flight at the winery.

MAR 9: St. Patrick's Charcuterie Class

Join Krysta, the owner of Board & Box Co., for a St. Patrick’s Day-themed charcuterie class in Pleasanton! In this hands-on session, Krysta will teach the art of creating a beautifully styled charcuterie board, sharing tips on selecting the best cheeses, charcuterie, and perfect pairings. Attendees will have the opportunity to design their own board, blending creativity with expert guidance. Whether you're attending with friends, family, or colleagues, this fun class offers a unique experience and a delicious board to take home and share.

MAR 15 – MAR 16: Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Experience the magic of the Emerald Isle without needing a passport at the City of Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival! Enjoy three stages of lively Irish music and dance, savor authentic Irish food and beverages, and explore over 250 vendors, including an Irish Marketplace. The festival also features roaming leprechauns, bagpipers, carnival rides, and an Irish Tea Cottage, making it a fun-filled celebration for all ages.

MAR 15: Downtown Pleasanton’s 12th Annual St. Patrick's Day Beer Crawl

Join the fun for a memorable night of beer tasting in Downtown Pleasanton, where local breweries team up for a St. Patrick's Day celebration from 5-8 PM! Guests will sample over 15 craft beers while enjoying festive Luck of the Irish activities. The event features live music, a car show, food trucks, photo booths, and more. Be sure to visit the Kottinger Barn Plaza for extra amusements and entertainment along the way!

MAR 19: Yamato - The Drummers of Japan at the Bankhead Theater

Experience the powerful rhythms of YAMATO, the Japanese Taiko drumming group, live at the Bankhead! Known for their energetic performances, YAMATO features over 40 Taiko drums, including the massive “Odaiko.” Their show combines intense, delicate, and playful moments, creating a truly unique musical experience. Grab tickets for the whole family and enjoy this unforgettable journey into the world of Taiko drumming.

MAR 22 – MAR 23: Livermore Valley Barrel Tasting Weekend

Discover the best of wine tasting at the Livermore Valley Barrel Tasting Weekend, a celebration of exceptional winemaking and warm hospitality. On March 22nd and 23rd, explore the flavors of the Livermore Valley by sampling exclusive barrel and bottled wines from over 20 participating local wineries. This immersive event gives you a taste of the past, present, and future of handcrafted wines, with wineries like McGrail Vineyards, Wood Family Vineyards, and boutique gems such as 3 Steves Winery and Pruett Farms Winery.

In addition to world-class wines, select wineries will feature live music from talented local artists. Tickets range from $15 to $30 per winery, with sales directly at each location, allowing you to create your own personalized itinerary.

MAR 28: iLuminate at the Bankhead Theater

Head to the Bankhead Theater in Livermore for iLuminate, where cutting-edge technology and dance come together in an amazing way. Since appearing on America’s Got Talent, iLuminate has wowed audiences around the world. As soon as the lights go down, you’ll be transported to a whole new world where the music, dance, and visuals are truly one-of-a-kind. Watch as performers in glowing, high-tech suits bring dynamic routines and illusions to life on stage at The Bankhead.

MAR 29 – MAR 30: Goodguys 41st All American Get-Together

Grab your family and friends and head to the Alameda County Fairgrounds on March 29th and 30th for the Goodguys 41st All American Get-Together! This exciting event features over 3,000 of the west coast's most impressive American-made cars and trucks. Don’t miss the Goodguys AutoCross racing series and the "American Shootout," along with a special indoor custom display, a huge swap meet, Cars 4 Sale Corral, and a vendor midway. Enjoy live music, see the top award-winning rides of the weekend, and much more! It’s a weekend packed with fun for car enthusiasts of all ages.

MAR 30: Children’s Day at Hagemann Ranch

Families are invited to enjoy Children’s Day at Hagemann Ranch on March 30th from 1-5 PM. The event features a small animal petting zoo, the HistoryMobile, and an appearance by the Good News Bears with their stuffed animals. Guests can take a tour of the historic site or explore on their own, visiting the resident horses and goats. This fun and family-friendly event is always free!

MAR 30: Overcoming Adversity: The Elizabeth Smart Story

Elizabeth Smart is coming to the Bankhead Theater in Livermore to share her powerful story of resilience, hope, and advocacy. Abducted in 2002, Elizabeth endured nine months of captivity before being safely recovered. Since then, she has become a strong advocate for child abduction prevention and legislative reform. Through her foundation and work with the Department of Justice, she has supported initiatives like the National AMBER Alert and authored best-selling books, including My Story. Despite the challenges of her past, Elizabeth exemplifies the power of hope in finding joy and fulfillment after tragedy.
