October has arrived in the Tri-Valley, and while we may get our share of fake fall with warm days lingering, the spirit of the season is undeniably strong! Spooky season is upon us, bringing an exciting array of events and festivities that celebrate all things autumn. Whether you're looking for family-friendly fun, thrilling Halloween attractions, or seasonal markets, Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and the surrounding communities have something for everyone. Let’s dive into what’s happening in the Tri-Valley this October!

SEP 27–NOV 2: Pirates of Emerson Haunted Themed Park

Prepare for thrills and chills at Pirates of Emerson Haunted Themed Park! This Halloween-themed attraction runs through early November, offering haunted houses, spooky mazes, and eerie entertainment for those who love a good scare.

OCT 2: Witches Night Out

Witches Night Out in Downtown Livermore is the perfect evening for you and your coven to enjoy a festive night of drinks, dining, and shopping! This adults-only event transforms downtown Livermore into a magical experience with themed cocktails, exclusive dining options, and "witchy steals and deals" at local shops. 

OCT 4–6: Alameda Fall Home Show

Head to Alameda County Fairgrounds to see hundreds of exhibits that showcase a wide range of home and garden products and services. Explore everything from landscaping ideas to pools and spas, to furniture, flooring, and fine art. This is a fantastic opportunity to discover the latest trends and products in the industry!

OCT 5: San Ramon Oktoberfest

Celebrate Oktoberfest with the San Ramon Historic Foundation on October 5th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Forest Home Farms! The event promises a lively atmosphere filled with traditional Bavarian fun. Sample beers from local breweries or opt for a glass of wine or cider if beer isn’t your thing. It's the perfect fall day for adults looking to celebrate Oktoberfest in San Ramon!

OCT 10–12: Pleasanton Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival 

Calling all crafters! The Quilt, Craft & Sewing Festival is the perfect destination for those passionate about sewing, quilting, and needle art. Whether you’re looking for unique fabrics, innovative tools, or inspiration for your next project, this festival is a chance to connect with fellow crafters and discover the latest trends in the crafting world!

OCT 11: Pumpkins on Main

Head to Downtown Pleasanton for Pumpkins on Main Scavenger Hunt and embark on a fun-filled quest to find hidden pumpkins throughout the charming streets of Pleasanton. With intriguing clues and delightful surprises waiting to be discovered, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for kids.

OCT 12: ArtWalk Livermore 2024

ArtWalk Livermore, sponsored by Livermore Valley Arts, is a community celebration that brings art to the heart of downtown Livermore this October. With over 200 artists showcasing a diverse range of handmade and original works, from contemporary to classical styles, visitors can enjoy an array of art forms including pottery, jewelry, and mixed media. The event also features live music, cultural arts demonstrations, and fun crafts for children. Stroll through historic downtown, meet the artists, and purchase unique, one-of-a-kind treasures.

OCT 17–20: TASTE: The Livermore Valley Wine Experience

Livermore Valley’s premier food and wine event, TASTE, returns from Thursday, October 17th through Sunday, October 20, 2024. The weekend features exclusive wine tastings, winemaker dinners, vineyard tours, and more, highlighting the region’s award-winning wines and talented winemakers.

OCT 18: TVTC Presents: Spooktacular Broadway

Step into the enchanting realm of "Spooktacular Broadway," where ghosts come alive with the melodies of timeless Broadway classics, weaving a captivating tale of specters and showmanship. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with spine-tingling performances and eerie elegance, as the magic of the Great White Way is brought to life.

OCT 18–20: The Big Bounce America

Big Bounce America is coming to the Alameda County Fairgrounds and is home to the World’s Biggest Bounce House, the official Guinness World Record holder! Guests will enjoy live DJs spinning the hottest tracks as they bounce around in a vibrant atmosphere filled with climbing towers, basketball hoops, slides, ball pits, and exciting confetti blasts. 

OCT 19: Oktoberfest at Golden State Racing

Kick off the opening day of Golden State Racing in Pleasanton with Oktoberfest! Guests aged 21 and older can enjoy a selection of five craft pours included with their ticket, along with a take-home beer stein. In addition to the tastings, delicious German food and desserts, such as sausages and pretzels, will be available for purchase.

OCT 19: Diwali – Festival of Lights

Dussera Diwali Dhaka invites the community to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds!! The festival will include a stunning fireworks display, vendor booths showcasing arts, crafts, jewelry, and clothing from India, and food booths serving delicious traditional Indian cuisine. The celebration will also feature a vibrant cultural program, showcasing spectacular Bollywood dances and performances that bring the spirit of Diwali to life.

OCT 23: 3rd Annual Connect to a Cause - Xtreme Music Bingo

Join Connect California Homes for the 3rd Annual Connect to a Cause, a free fundraising event at BottleTaps Restaurant in Pleasanton on Wednesday, October 23, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The highlight of the night is Xtreme Music Bingo, where participants will listen to 30-second music clips and mark their bingo cards for a chance to win prizes every round. Playing is free, and 15% of BottleTaps’ profits will be donated to the nonprofit Culinary Angels, alongside fun-filled raffle prizes with all proceeds from ticket purchases also benefiting the cause. Come out for a night of drinks, food, music, and community spirit. Don’t forget to wear pink to show your support!

OCT 25–27: Pleasanton Harvest Festival

The Pleasanton Harvest Festival is coming to the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Explore handmade arts and crafts, specialty foods, decor, clothing, and much more. The festival also features daily live entertainment from local musicians.

OCT 26: Halloween Brew Crawl in Downtown Pleasanton

Head over to Downtown Pleasanton for their Halloween Brew Crawl! Explore over 25 hauntingly good brews from local breweries at various locations along Main Street. Dress in your best costume and prepare for an evening of delicious drinks, live music, and eerie vibes. Whether you're a beer lover or just in it for the Halloween fun, this adults-only event promises a thrilling night out. Start by checking in at the Museum on Main to receive your commemorative glass, wristband, and map to guide your crawl. 

OCT 26: Hallo-Wine Party Tour

Have an evening of drinks and delight at the Hallo-Wine Party Tour aboard the Livermore Wine Trolley! Enjoy a thrilling wine-tasting experience at three award-winning wineries: Murrieta’s Well, McGrail Vineyards, and Wood Family Vineyards. Each stop features a full wine-tasting flight paired with a delicious Halloween treat to enhance your experience. This is the perfect opportunity to wear your best costume and gather your friends for a haunted ride on the trolley

OCT 26: Kidz Town Halloween Hay Day

Livermore’s favorite family tradition is back, inviting families with children in 5th grade and under to join in the fun! The day features a lively Costume Contest, music, and trick-or-treating at participating downtown businesses. Kids can enjoy exciting games and activities, plus even more trick-or-treating at Stockmen's Park with local businesses.

OCT 30:  The Witching Hours

At The Witching Hours, hosted at the stunning Concannon Vineyard, you'll be greeted with a complimentary welcome pour as you enter this enchanting setting. Join in on the fun with exciting costume contests and lively karaoke sessions, indulge in a candy grazing table, and sip on festive wine cocktails.

OCT 31: Concord Halloween Bar Crawl

Head to Concord’s spookiest bars on October 31st! Wear your costume and enjoy chilling drinks and surprises at every stop. Each ticket includes 2-3 drinks or shots, exclusive Halloween swag, up to 25% off select food and up to 50% off drinks, free admission to over four venues, and the chance to compete in a costume contest for prizes valued at $2,000. Guests can also enjoy live DJ entertainment and capture the night with professional photography.
