Tri-Valley Events - August 2026

August is here, and the Tri-Valley and East Bay are buzzing with things to do, from vineyard concerts and comedy nights to a full weekend of hot rods. Whether you're a local or just visiting, there's something on this calendar for you. Here's what's happening around Pleasanton, Livermore, Danville, San Ramon, Walnut Creek, and Concord this month.

August 2026 Tri-Valley & East Bay Events

AUG 1: Wine Down Friday @ Retzlaff Vineyards Kick off the month with a relaxed evening among the vines. Grab a glass, settle into the outdoor patio, and ease into the weekend at one of Livermore Valley's favorite family-run wineries.

AUG 3: Music in the Park Season Finale @ Town Green, Danville The last show of Danville's summer concert series closes things out on the Town Green, a easy, blanket-on-the-grass way to spend an evening downtown.

AUG 4: National Night Out, Pleasanton Neighbors, local police and fire crews, and community groups come together across Pleasanton for this annual night of block parties and community-building.

AUG 7: Concerts in the Park: Ruff Stock @ Lions Wayside Park, Pleasanton Pleasanton's beloved Friday concert series kicks off its August lineup with Ruff Stock. Free, family-friendly, and a great excuse to grab dinner downtown first.

AUG 7: Danville Student Film Festival @ Village Theatre Danville Local student filmmakers get the big screen for a night, a fun one if you want to support young, homegrown talent.

AUG 8: Friday Night Live @ McGrail Vineyards Live music and wine tasting with Livermore Valley views, a low-key way to start the weekend.

AUG 8: Music at the Plaza @ Prospect Park Plaza, Danville Free live music in the heart of downtown Danville, pull up a chair and enjoy the evening.

AUG 9 – AUG 25: SPARC Theater's Hamlet @ Village Theatre Danville A multi-week run of Shakespeare's classic from SPARC Theater. Great option if you're looking for something a little more theatrical this month.

AUG 13: Broadway Plaza Summer Concert — The Bell Brothers + Line Dancing, Walnut Creek Line dance lessons and a DJ kick things off at 5:30, followed by a live set from The Bell Brothers, a Northern California country/rock/Americana duo who've opened for Dwight Yoakam and Jason Aldean. Bring a chair, drinks are sold on-site and food is a short walk away at any of the surrounding restaurants.

AUG 14: City Center Unplugged @ Alexander Square, San Ramon An intimate, acoustic-style evening of live music at Alexander Square, a nice change of pace from the bigger outdoor concerts.

AUG 15: Wente After Dark — Ultimate 80's Dance Party, Livermore A one-night throwback bash at Wente Vineyards with a DJ spinning 80s hits, a best-dressed costume contest, and wine and cocktails flowing all evening. Dress the part.

AUG 15: 311 & Dirty Heads — So Glad You Made It Tour @ Toyota Pavilion, Concord Reggae-rock heavyweights 311 team up with Dirty Heads for a full night at Toyota Pavilion's outdoor amphitheater — one of the bigger touring acts hitting the area all summer.

AUG 18: Open Mic Night @ First Street Wine Company Local musicians and performers take the mic for a casual, community-driven evening, a great one to discover new local talent.

AUG 21: Jane Lynch & Kate Flannery — The Trouble with Angels @ The Bankhead Theater, Livermore Emmy winner Jane Lynch (Glee) and Kate Flannery (The Office) team up for a night of cabaret-meets-stand-up — powerhouse vocals, classic tunes, and plenty of campy banter and sass.

AUG 21: Desi Comedy Fest @ Firehouse Arts Center, Pleasanton A night of stand-up celebrating South Asian comedic talent at Pleasanton's Firehouse Arts Center.

AUG 21: Friday Line Dance Lessons & Live Band @ Stampede Learn a few new steps, then stick around for a live band, a fun, active way to spend a Friday night.

AUG 21: Concerts in the Park: Diablo Fugitives @ Lions Wayside Park, Pleasanton This week's free Friday concert brings Diablo Fugitives to Lions Wayside Park.

AUG 21 – 23: Goodguys West Coast Nationals @ Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton Thousands of hot rods, customs, muscle cars, and trick trucks take over the fairgrounds for three days. A must for gearheads, and great people-watching even if you're not one.

AUG 28: Season Finale Concerts in the Park — East Bay Groveline @ Lions Wayside Park, Pleasanton Pleasanton's summer concert series wraps for the year with East Bay Groveline closing things out.

AUG 28: Jeff Bordes' Louis Armstrong Tribute @ Firehouse Arts Center, Pleasanton A tribute set honoring Louis Armstrong's music and legacy, a warm, jazzy way to spend a Friday night.
