Tri-Valley Events - August 2025

August is here, and the Tri-Valley region is buzzing with a plethora of activities and events that cater to all interests and age groups. Whether you're a local resident or planning a visit, there's something for everyone in the vibrant communities of Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, and beyond. Let's dive into the highlights of the Tri-Valley events happening this month!

August 2024 Tri-Valley Events

AUG 1–3: Santa Clara County Fair

Kick off the month with a trip to the Santa Clara County Fair. Enjoy classic fair attractions such as carnival rides, games, livestock shows, and live entertainment. Sample a variety of delicious fair foods, from funnel cakes to corn dogs, and experience the community spirit with local art exhibits and competitions.

AUG 1–3: Watsonville Strawberry Festival

A short drive away, the Watsonville Strawberry Festival offers a sweet experience with strawberry-themed activities, food, and entertainment. Indulge in strawberry shortcakes, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and other treats while enjoying live music, carnival rides, and family-friendly games.

AUG 2–3: First Weekends on Main in Downtown Pleasanton

Downtown Pleasanton transforms with exciting themes each weekend. On Aug 2, enjoy "Porsches on Main," showcasing stunning Porsche cars for automobile enthusiasts. On Aug 3, enjoy “Pleasanton Palooza”, featuring local vendors and live entertainment.

AUG 7: Family First Night at the Livermore Thursday Farmers Market

Spend quality family time at the Livermore Thursday Farmers Market. This special event features fun activities for kids, such as face painting and balloon artists, alongside the usual array of fresh, local produce, handmade crafts, and gourmet food vendors.

AUG 17: Art in the Park

Celebrate local creativity at Art in the Park in Downtown Livermore! Enjoy a summer day filled with artists and makers showcasing their work, live demonstrations, and unique handcrafted goods—all next to the Farmers Market. Whether you’re browsing, buying, or creating, it’s the perfect way to connect with the community and support local art.

AUG 21: Thirsty Thursday at the Farmers Market

Head to Carnegie Park in Livermore for a farmers market with a twist. Enjoy local beverages, including craft beers and wines, alongside fresh market offerings. It's a great way to unwind after a busy day, with live music and a vibrant community atmosphere.

AUG 22–24: Goodguys 38th West Coast Nationals Car Show

Car lovers should mark their calendars for the GoodGuys Car Show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Featuring hundreds of classic cars, hot rods, and muscle cars, this event is a car enthusiast's dream. Enjoy live entertainment, vendor exhibits, and meet fellow car lovers at this exciting show.

AUG 27: Meals That Matter

Support local seniors by enjoying a meal at Pieology in San Leandro. As part of Spectrum Community Services’ Meals That Matter series, a portion of your bill will help fund programs like Meals on Wheels, Senior Meals, and Fall Prevention Classes, ensuring seniors stay nourished, safe, and connected.

AUG 30: Summer Series at Altamont Beer Works

Spend the last Saturday of the month with a refreshing evening at Altamont Beer Works' Summer Series. Enjoy live music, shopping vendors, food trucks, craft beer, and a relaxed atmosphere at this popular local brewery. It's the perfect way to celebrate the end of summer with friends and family.

AUG 30–31: 158th Scottish Highland Gathering & Games - Alameda County Fairgrounds

Celebrate Scottish culture with traditional games, music, and dance at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Experience the thrill of the caber toss, watch Highland dancing competitions, and enjoy the sounds of bagpipes and drums. The event also features Scottish food, crafts, and family-friendly activities.

 

Weekly Recurring Events

Tuesday Tunes at The Bankhead Theater (AUG 5, 12, 19, 26)
