It’s time to get ready for the Alameda County Fair, hosted at the Alameda County Fairgrounds from June 16th to July 9th, 2023. This highly anticipated annual event draws visitors from all over California. As the 7th largest fair in the state and ranked among the Top 50 Fairs of Northern America, it offers a wide array of attractions and entertainment options. Lasting only a few weeks each year, this fair promises a jam-packed experience filled with fun and excitement!

Calling all Foodies: the Alameda County Fair is a food lover's paradise. The county fair offers unique and oversized food to indulge in. From a foot-long hot dog to a plate of fries the size of your face, funnel cake, gelato shakes, curly fry baskets, tornado potatoes, deep fried oreos, and turkey legs. The list goes on and on. Relive childhood memories and experience the thrill of carnival games and rides. From classic favorites like the Ferris wheel to exhilarating roller coasters, the carnival area offers fun and excitement for all ages. As night falls, the colorful lights create a magical ambiance, making it an enchanting experience.
The Alameda County Fair website states, “Carnival wristbands may only be purchased on site at a Butler Kiosk in the Kids or Midway Carnival areas. Butler kiosks take both credit card and cash. All day passes and individual tickets purchased are all wristbands now.” Ticket prices range from $13-$18, depending on how soon you buy. Witness the oldest one-mile horse race track in America at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. With a history dating back to 1858, horse racing is a cherished tradition at this fair. Join thousands of spectators in the stands and sidelines to cheer on the magnificent horses as they speed down the track. During the duration of the fair, live horse races generally run Friday-Sunday and on July 4th.
End your day at the fair on a high note with the captivating live concerts. Featuring a lineup of popular bands and talented cover bands, the concerts offer a perfect opportunity to unwind. Indulge in the finer things at the Alameda County Fair's tasting events. Specially curated for craft beer enthusiasts, wine lovers, and craft cocktail fans, these events offer a chance to sample a variety of beverages. Held at the Infield at the Race Track, these tasting fests provide a delightful experience for connoisseurs and includes commemorative glasses, admission to the fair, and plenty of samples. Each evening at 6pm, right outside the concert arena, delightful family-friendly movies are displayed on a large screen, creating a wonderful viewing experience for everyone. For adrenaline junkies, the FMX Freestyle Motocross is a must-see spectacle. Witness talented riders defy gravity with jaw-dropping aerial stunts and fearless maneuvers. The high-flying excitement of motocross will keep you on the edge of your seat.
If motocross isn’t your style, head over to experience the heart-pounding action of the Imperial Knights Extreme Medieval Stunt Show. Watch in awe as skilled performers showcase their talent through thrilling sword fights, daring acrobatics, and medieval-themed stunts.
Alongside the display of smaller animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, cats, and dogs, the fair provides a unique opportunity to observe a diverse range of animals that we don't encounter in our daily lives. From farm animals, llamas, kangaroos, and even rare reptiles, the fair offers a captivating glimpse into the animal kingdom. Take a leisurely stroll through the different animal showcases, where you can interact with friendly animals, feed them, and learn more about them!
