July has arrived, bringing the heart of summer with it! From sun-soaked days to warm evenings, it's the ideal time to make the most of everything our community has to offer. Think outdoor concerts, festive events, local markets, and endless ways to celebrate the summer. Whether you're staying local or exploring something new, there's no shortage of summer fun ahead across the East Bay. Let's take a look at what's happening this July!
JUL 2–26: Shakespeare in the Vineyard: Hamlet at Darcie Kent Vineyards
Livermore SPARC Theater's 20th-anniversary Shakespeare in the Vineyard brings a 1990s-inspired staging of "The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark" to Darcie Kent Vineyards. Performances run Fridays through Sundays at 7:30 PM (dark on July 4), with a Shakespeare Happy Hour starting at 6 PM. Bring a picnic and settle in under the stars.
JUL 2, 9, 16, 23, 30: Live Music at Dust Bowl Brewing at Livermore
Enjoy local artists, 20+ beers on tap, and no cover every Thursday evening this summer at Dust Bowl Brewing's Livermore taproom.
JUL 2, 9, 16, 23, 30: Concord Music & Market at Todos Santos Plaza, Concord
Concord's beloved Thursday-night tradition pairs a lively farmers' market (opening at 4 PM) with free live music starting at 6:30 PM in Todos Santos Plaza. Expect tribute acts and local favorites covering everything from Motown to rock all summer long.
JUL 3, 17: Moonlight Movies at Danville Town Green
Danville's free outdoor movie series returns to the Town Green with family games at 6:30 PM and a movie around 8 PM — Captain America on July 3 and Lilo & Stitch on July 17.
JUL 4: Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade
Head to Downtown Danville for the 51st annual hometown Independence Day parade — floats, bands, and red, white, and blue pride along Hartz Avenue from 9 AM to noon.
JUL 4: Concord Fourth of July Celebration at Downtown Concord
Concord kicks off Independence Day with a pancake breakfast, parade, and family festival, wrapping up with a fireworks show in the evening — a longtime East Bay holiday tradition.
JUL 5: Pleasant Hill Sunset by the Lake: The Bell Brothers at City Hall Lawn
Pleasant Hill's free Sunset by the Lake concert series continues with country favorites The Bell Brothers on the lawn at City Hall, 6–8 PM, with food trucks from Taste of the World Market.
JUL 6: Downtown Plaza Concerts at Pleasant Hill
The first-Friday summer concert series returns to Downtown Pleasant Hill's plaza, 6–8 PM, free and family-friendly.
JUL 7, 14, 21, 28: Tuesday Tunes at The Bankhead Theater, Livermore
The Livermore Cultural Arts Council's free, family-friendly summer concert series continues at Bankhead Plaza in Downtown Livermore, 6:45–8:15 PM.
JUL 8: Locust Street Festival at Downtown Walnut Creek
Downtown Walnut Creek transforms into a summer block party with live music, food trucks, craft beer and wine, and artisan vendors along Locust and Cypress Streets, 5–8:30 PM. Free with RSVP.
JUL 9, 16, 23, 30: Dublin Summer Concert Series at Emerald Glen Park
Free Thursday-evening concerts at the Emerald Glen Park Amphitheater coincide with the Dublin Farmers' Market — this month's lineup includes a Selena tribute, a '70s-to-today dance cover band, and a Rolling Stones tribute.
JUL 11, 25: Music in the Park at Danville Town Green
Danville's free Saturday concert series returns to the Town Green, 6–8 PM — Mercy and the Heartbeats (70s-to-today pop hits) on July 11 and Dream Like Taylor, a Taylor Swift tribute band, on July 25.
JUL 17–18: Pleasant Hill Blues & Brews Festival at Pleasant Hill Park
Now in its 15th year, this East Bay summer staple kicks off with a Friday-night country pre-party (6–9 PM) and continues Saturday (4–9 PM) with zydeco, reggae, and pop/rock acts, a shaded craft beer garden, food trucks, and a free Kidzone.
JUL 18: Comedy Uncorked at Retzlaff Vineyards, Livermore
Retzlaff Vineyards presents stand-up comedy in the vines, featuring Michael Booth, Candy Shaw, Mean Dave, and headliner Stephen B, with music from the Matt Finders band.
JUL 19: Pleasant Hill Sunset by the Lake: Van Goat at City Hall Lawn
The Sunset by the Lake series continues with Van Goat on the lawn at Pleasant Hill City Hall, 6–8 PM — bring a picnic and low chairs.
JUL 25: Beatles Tribute at Wente Family Vineyards, Livermore
The Sun Kings, one of the country's premier Beatles tribute bands, bring note-for-note harmonies and era-perfect arrangements to the Wente concert lawn. Doors open at 6 PM, music starts at 8 PM.
