The Pleasanton Downtown Association's 2024 event schedule features a condensed 1st Weekends on Main series, a three-month lineup brimming with Friday Concerts in the Park, and the much-anticipated return of showcase special event nights.
Get ready for an electrifying lineup of events, starting off with a bang at the St. Patrick’s Day Brew Crawl on March 16! Months of intense planning by the PDA and its Board of Directors have led to this moment, where Downtown Pleasanton is bringing the perfect blend of excitement and entertainment. Executive Director Laura Brooks emphasizes that this lineup is finely tuned to match the desires of downtown businesses and residents, ensuring an unforgettable experience for everyone involved!
“Downtown Pleasanton is the living room of our city … it’s where we gather, where we connect and where we celebrate. We are vibrant because of the amazing people who choose to love local and support small.” -Laura Brooks (Executive Director of Pleasanton Downtown Association)
The major change from recent years is the 1st Weekends on Main program, which was born during the COVID-19 pandemic to support outdoor shopping and dining, reducing to just three installments and running only Saturdays and Sundays instead of starting on the Friday evenings.
Mark your calendars for an epic lineup during the 1st Weekends on Main! June 1-2 kicks off with the heart-pounding BMX Show & Hot Rod Row, followed by a patriotic salute on July 6-7 with Salute to Service & Chili Cook-Off, and gear up for luxury and speed on Aug. 3-4 with the Porsche Show. But wait, there's more! Executive Director Brooks hints at some electrifying surprises yet to be unveiled, adding an extra layer of anticipation to this already thrilling series!
The beloved Concerts in the Park, held at Delucchi and Lions Wayside parks during the summer months, are scheduled to take place every Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 PM between June and August. The complete lineup of concert acts is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as stated by the Pleasanton Downtown Association.
In addition to the St. Patrick’s Day weekend celebration, the opening month will showcase the Bunny Hop kids’ scavenger hunt on March 23. Another scavenger hunt for youth, Pumpkins on Main, is scheduled for the fall, running from Oct. 11 to Oct. 27.
The schedule also includes various other events such as the Halloween Brew Crawl on Oct. 26, the Magical Holiday Evening and Hometown Holiday Parade on Dec. 7-8, and the Spirit & Sweater Stroll on Dec. 14.
This year’s Summer Wine Stoll in Downtown Pleasanton is on May 4th. Sip, shop and stroll during Pleasanton’s annual Summer Wine Stroll where downtown locations become tasting rooms. Listen to live music and taste local wines and small bites with each guest receiving a commemorative wine glass and event map.
This year's Forkful Culinary Crawl will take place on September 7th. During Forkful, each participating restaurant will serve you the "perfect forkful" of food. This is a perfect bite, not a full serving. You will receive a commemorative fork to use throughout the evening and a program with a list of locations and food served.
Shop Small Saturday, falling on November 30th, is an annual event celebrated in Downtown Pleasanton, highlighting the vibrant community of local businesses.
